Job summary

The YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley is seeking a lifeguard to ensure the safety of all patrons in and around the pool area and to help maintain a welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff.

Candidates must be lifeguard certified; YMCA-provided classes are available. Perks include a free YMCA membership, program discounts, 403B/retirement options, EAP, and a 12% retirement fund contribution after eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be lifeguard certified (classes provided through the YMCA).
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to maintain safety and enforce pool rules consistently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all patrons in and around the pool area.
• Follow aquatics best practices and enforce rules fairly.
• Maintain constant surveillance of water and pool decks.
• Wear rescue gear and respond to emergencies quickly.
• Record and submit incident reports; keep pool area clean.
