Job summary

Schweitzer Wellbeing Center is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety of patrons and promote health through aquatic activities. Training starts December 2026 with regular responsibilities beginning January 2027, as the center reopens after remodeling.

Responsibilities include preventing hazards, teaching swimming safety, handling complaints, and maintaining equipment and facilities. Must hold ARC Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
• Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
• Demonstrated skills in customer service, problem-solving, communication, and computer knowledge.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality customer service to patrons, respond to inquiries, and educate patrons on pool safety.
• Uphold professional lifeguarding standards on and off stand.
• Maintain constant supervision to ensure safety in the natatorium and surrounding areas.
• Follow safety policies and enforce rules to prevent accidents.
• Perform water rescues and administer first aid and CPR as needed, and complete incident reports.
