The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center in Norfolk is seeking a Lifeguard for a part-time, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Job DetailsJob Location: PMC-Hampton Roads AC Kroc Community Center - NORFOLK, VA 23502 Salary Range: $13.00 - $13.50 Hourly Job Category: Recreation Schedule/Hours: Part-time, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

This position is responsible for: The Lifeguard ensures safe aquatic operations by observing swimmers, protecting life, preventing accidents, and enforcing facility regulations under the direction of the Lead Lifeguard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe swimmers and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe, clean pool environment.
• Report equipment defects, facility issues, and safety concerns.
• Maintain professional attitude and attend required staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must have the ability to swim with proficiency and endurance.
• Ability to tread water while holding a brick for 5 minutes.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Work involves exposure to pool chemicals, temperature changes, noise, and humidity.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

Current certifications in:

• American Red Cross First Aid (or equivalent Title 22 certification)
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro)
• Lifeguard Training (equivalent certifications may be accepted)
