Job summary

The Brodsky Organization is seeking qualified lifeguards for upscale, residential amenities in Brooklyn. Multiple shifts are available to cover rooftop wading pools and other pool areas, with safety and guest service at the forefront.

Responsibilities include monitoring swimmers, enforcing rules, testing water chemistry to NYC DOH standards, and providing emergency care when needed. Must be professional, customer-focused and CPR/First Aid certified.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard certification as required by NYC DOH.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification with required annual renewal to meet NYC DOH guidelines.
• High degree of professionalism and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the pool area and ensure safety and rule compliance.
• Monitor pool and surrounding areas to prevent accidents.
• Explain and enforce rules, policies and procedures.
• Test and record pool chemical levels (pH and chlorine).
• Record keeping of chemical test results to NYC DOH standards.
• Provide emergency care and rapid response in emergencies.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of pool areas.
• Physically capable of performing lifeguard duties.

Excellent opportunity for qualified lifeguards to work at upscale, residential amenity facilities. Multiple shifts available for guards at outdoor rooftop wading pools. Locations in Brooklyn.

Essential Job Duties:

• Welcome guests to the pool area and ensure their safety and compliance with all rules.
• Monitor swimming pool and other designated areas to prevent accidents and minimize or eliminate unsafe situations.
• Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Regularly test and record pool chemical levels (pH and chlorine) and maintain a clean pool environment.
• Record keeping of chemical test results to NYC DOH standards.
• Actively scan, recognize, and provide rapid response in all emergency situations.
• Provide emergency care and treatment if necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all areas.
• Physically capable of performing Lifeguard duties.

Requirements:

• High degree of professionalism at all times.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Current Lifeguard certification as required by NYC DOH.*

Salary $19-$22/hr commensurate with experience.
