Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a vigilant Lifeguard to keep our pool area safe and welcoming for families. You’ll monitor swimmers, enforce rules, provide first aid if needed, and lead by example on every shift.

Ideal candidates are safety-first, dependable, punctual, and able to communicate clearly with both teammates and guests. Certification as Lifeguard is required (or obtained through us); evenings and weekends availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Lifeguard certification through Goldfish Swim School, if not certified.
• 6 months lifeguard experience at an aquatic facility or camp preferred.
• Evening and weekend availability required.
• Ability to stay vigilant and respond quickly to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant, focused surveillance of all patrons in the facility and respond immediately to any emergency.
• Provide emergency care and first aid until EMS arrives, and ensure EMS is contacted promptly.
• Communicate facility rules to members and guests fairly, with a welcoming attitude.
• Inform management of incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility throughout every shift.
• Help drive our mission and ensure everyone has a Golden Experience while in the building.

Job Title: Lifeguard

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Part time, Non-Exempt

Summary: We’re looking for an alert, dependable, and safety-first team member to join us as a Lifeguard. This role is the backbone of what we do. You'll be poolside every shift, keeping a watchful eye over our swimmers, and creating a safe environment where kids and families feel confident in the water. If you take safety seriously, show up ready to lead by example, and genuinely care about the people around you, this role is for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain constant, focused surveillance of all patrons in the facility and respond immediately and appropriately to any emergency.
• Provide emergency care and first aid until EMS arrives, and ensure EMS is contacted through the most appropriate means.
• Communicate facility rules to members and guests fairly, consistently, and with a welcoming attitude.
• Inform management of any incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility throughout every shift.
• Help drive our mission and ensure everyone has a Golden Experience while in the building.

What We’re Looking For:

• A safety-first mindset and the ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure.
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to show up fully focused every shift.
• Strong communication skills with both team members and families.
• Required to obtain Lifeguard certification through Goldfish Swim School, if not certified already.
• 6 months of lifeguard experience at an aquatic facility or camp preferred.
• Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
• While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat, humidity, and chlorine. Noise level is usually moderate.
