Job summary

LIVunLtd is hiring Lifeguards to join Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics. We seek certified lifeguards with excellent customer service and the ability to prevent and respond to emergencies. Part-time and full-time options available.

Responsibilities include enforcing rules, rescuing when needed, and providing a safe pool environment. Training, certification, and uniforms are required, with opportunities for growth and a supportive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Must be able to perform water rescues of all weights/heights.
• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and stay calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing pool rules.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Perform water rescues and administer basic first aid.
• Inspect facility daily and report hazards.
• Direct swimmers in hazardous conditions.
• Maintain a clean pool area.
• Complete required training and certifications.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests.
• Adhere to LIVunLtd policies and attend training.
• Wear approved LIVunLtd uniform.
• Attend new hire and ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

LIVunLtd is looking for Lifeguardsto join our team at Huntersville Family Fitness &Aquatics. We are hiringcertified lifeguards who have a knack for exceptional customer service. Under general supervision, lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons within the pool area (s) by preventing and responding to emergencies. Applicants must be responsible, alert, reliable, possess a strong work ethic and have a positive attitude.BothPart-Time and Full-Time opportunitiesare available.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing all rules and regulations of the pool and surrounding area.
• Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations.
• Perform water rescues and administer basic first aid as needed.
• Inspect the facility on a daily basis and report any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to your manager.
• Direct swimmers in and out of the pool in hazardous conditions.
• Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool.
• Maintain and complete required training and applicable certifications such as, but not limited to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, Lifeguard, and Fire Safety, etc.
• Provide superior customer service to all residents and guests.
• Adhere and adapt to all current and new LIVunLtd policy, procedures and initiatives.
• Wear corporate / building approved uniform for each specific LIVunLtd location where you are working.
• Attend all required new hire and continuous training as requested by LIVunLtd.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities specific to the location / building and upon the request of your manager.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified applicants must haveor be willing to obtain a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard/ CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification:
  • Must be able to perform water rescues on victims of any weight and height
  • Swim 300 yards (12 lengths)2 minute tread without using arms for support
  • Complete a timed event within 50 seconds by starting in the water, swim 20 yards, Submerge to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and exit the water without using steps or a ladder.
• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to follow routine via verbal and written instructions.
• Previous lifeguarding and customer service experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION

This Lifeguard positionwith LIVunLtd at HFFApays $13.50-$14per hour.
