Job summary

A seasonal hotel is looking for a Lifeguard to ensure the safety of guests at the pool during flexible shifts. Responsibilities include enforcing rules, administering first aid, and maintaining cleanliness. Ideal candidates should have life guarding and customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. This position values a High School diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with some college experience.

Qualifications

Job Description

Position: Lifeguard
Department: Pool

Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)

• Ensure guests’ safety and protect lives
• Enforce rules and regulations
• Recognize and respond effectively when situations arise
• Administer first aid and CPR when necessary

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Check, record and regulate chlorine/ph and water temperature
• Clean drains around pool
• Clean and fill baby pool
• Check safety equipment to assure it is readily available at all times
• Skim pool as necessary
• Fill out reports when necessary

Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)

• Flexible shifts including some evenings
• 9am-3pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, 6pm-11pm

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must meet the following criteria in addition to the 5 Star Mobil Service Standards

Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)

• Life guarding experience preferred
• Customer service experience preferred

Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Some college preferred

Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)

• Excellent grammar and verbal skills
• Must be able to be assertive

Required Supervision: (Reports to, Supervision provided, number of people to supervise)

• Supervision provided. Reports to Pool Manager
• Must possess the maturity to respond to situations as they arrive
