Job summary

The Roth Family JCC, a part of Shalom Orlando, is seeking a Lifeguard to help keep our aquatics area safe and welcoming. This year-round, part-time role requires vigilance, strong swimming, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies while providing friendly service to members and guests.

You'll hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications, be 15+ years old, and work weekday afternoons. Flexible scheduling and member benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Strong swimming and rescue skills with active surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the pool and maintain a safe environment for all swimmers.

REPORTS TO: Program Director

EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS: Year-Round; Part-Time

What You’ll Do

• Monitor the pool and maintain a safe environment for all swimmers.
• Enforce pool rules and safety procedures.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies.
• Perform rescues, CPR/AED, and first aid when needed.
• Assist with swim testing and summer camp aquatics.
• Complete routine pool and safety checks.
• Keep the pool deck and surrounding areas clean and organized.
• Provide friendly, professional service to members and guests.
• Participate in staff trainings and safety drills.

Schedule

• Part-time, year-round.
• Flexible scheduling available.
• Typical weekday hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Strong swimming and rescue skills.
• Able to stay alert and maintain active surveillance for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors and around pool environments.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Pay

PayStarting at $17 per hour, with higher rates available based on experience and qualifications.
