Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, North Carolina invites applications for a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor. This PRN role supports pool safety, conducts aquatics programming, and delivers exceptional customer service to members, patients, and guests.

Responsibilities include supervising pool activities, enforcing rules, performing rescues and first aid, testing water chemistry, and delivering swim instruction.

Qualifications

• American Red Cross CPR-AED for Lifeguards certification within 7 days of hire.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification within 7 days of hire.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for Swim Instructor positions.
• Starfish Aquatics Institute Swim Instructor certification required within one month of hire.
• Must be proficient in all swimming skills covered in Swim Instructor training.
• Must be physically fit and able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 150 pounds.

What we're looking for

Applicants Should Meet The Following Requirements

• Minimum age of 16 years for Lifeguard positions.
• American Red Cross CPR-AED for Lifeguards certification within 7 days of hire (Lifeguard positions).
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification within 7 days of hire (Lifeguard positions).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for Swim Instructor positions.
• Starfish Aquatics Institute Swim Instructor certification required within one month of hire (Swim Instructor positions).
• Must be proficient in all swimming skills covered in Swim Instructor training.
• Ability to maintain a high level of physical fitness.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 150 pounds.
• Demonstrated vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Ability to demonstrate Front Crawl (Freestyle), Breaststroke, and other skills covered in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course.
