Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a vigilant Lifeguard to be poolside each shift, ensuring a safe environment for children and families. This role emphasizes proactive safety, strong teamwork, and exceptional customer care to uphold our golden standard.

You will monitor swimmers, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies with calm, professional handling. Evening and weekend availability is required, and Lifeguard certification is expected or pursued on hire.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold Lifeguard certification (or obtain it before starting).
• 6 months lifeguard experience preferred.
• Available for evening and weekend shifts.
• Maintain alert, safety-first approach on pool deck.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant, focused surveillance of all patrons and respond to emergencies.
• Provide emergency care and first aid until EMS arrives.
• Communicate facility rules to members and guests with a welcoming attitude.
• Inform management of incidents accurately and timely.
• Keep the facility clean, safe, and organized throughout each shift.

Job Title: Lifeguard

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Part time, Non-Exempt

Summary: We’re looking for an alert, dependable, and safety-first team member to join us as a Lifeguard. This role is the backbone of what we do. You'll be poolside every shift, keeping a watchful eye over our swimmers, and creating a safe environment where kids and families feel confident in the water. If you take safety seriously, show up ready to lead by example, and genuinely care about the people around you, this role is for you!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain constant, focused surveillance of all patrons in the facility and respond immediately and appropriately to any emergency.
• Provide emergency care and first aid until EMS arrives, and ensure EMS is contacted through the most appropriate means.
• Communicate facility rules to members and guests fairly, consistently, and with a welcoming attitude.
• Inform management of any incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility throughout every shift.
• Help drive our mission and ensure everyone has a Golden Experience while in the building.

What We’re Looking For

• A safety-first mindset and the ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure.
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to show up fully focused every shift.
• Strong communication skills with both team members and families.
• Required to obtain Lifeguard certification through Goldfish Swim School, if not certified already.
• 6 months of lifeguard experience at an aquatic facility or camp preferred.
• Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
• While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat, humidity, and chlorine. Noise level is usually moderate.
