Job summary

The Salvation Army Family Haven Shelter in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Life Skills Coordinator to empower Veterans and program participants with practical tools for daily living.

You will design curricula, lead workshops, and foster partnerships to promote housing stability, income improvement, and well-being across two sites. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field with trauma-informed, culturally competent experience and strong outreach skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or related field; master’s preferred.
• Experience with marginalized populations and trauma-informed care.
• Strong interpersonal and community outreach skills.
• Culturally competent with diverse populations and bilingual abilities a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a life skills curriculum for diverse client groups.
• Facilitate workshops on housing stability, employment readiness, and finances.
• Build community partnerships and conduct outreach to engage participants.
• Deliver group sessions at two sites with flexible scheduling.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to coordinate services.
• Collect feedback and report findings to leadership for program improvement.
