Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Professional to support individuals in a residential setting in Montgomery County, PA. The role focuses on helping clients achieve independence, life skills, and recovery goals within a trauma-informed environment.

Qualified candidates provide daily living assistance, community integration, and collaboration with treatment teams, while maintaining safety and respect for all individuals served.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer and internet skills, including email and electronic documentation.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges in a residential setting.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including meal planning, meal preparation, shopping, and household tasks.
• Encourage and support individuals in achieving their treatment, recovery, and personal goals.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and skill-building opportunities that promote independence and quality of life.
• Facilitate community involvement, appointments, recreational activities, and transportation needs.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations using trauma-informed practices.
• Document services, activities, progress notes, medication records, and other required program documentation.
• Collaborate with treatment teams, clinical staff, and supervisors to ensure individuals receive quality care.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all individuals served.
• Monitor medications as assigned and follow all organizational policies and procedures.
