Job summary

Morrison Foerster is seeking a Ph.D.-level life sciences patent prosecution fellow or associate to join our Patent Prosecution Group. You will prepare and prosecute patent applications, contribute to prosecution strategy, and provide technical and legal research for matters before the USPTO.

This role supports PTAB and litigation proceedings and offers the opportunity to work with a world‑class team across a broad range of technologies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in life sciences, plant biology, chemistry, or medicine is required or in progress.
• Outstanding writing and analytical skills with top academic credentials.
• Internship period – 3 to 6 months, full-time or part-time; part-time 20 hours/week.
• USPTO registration is not required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
• Contributing to prosecution strategy.
• Providing technical and legal research and analysis for matters before the USPTO.
