Your Opportunity

Stantec seeks an Owner’s Representative, at the Project Manager level, to manage projects on behalf of owners in the biopharmaceutical/life sciences sector. In this role, you will be working on projects in various stages of development and complexity from conceptual planning through design and construction. This role will require regular travel to client sites to work with the project teams and provide onsite supervision. This full‑time position is based at the client’s office in Devens, MA and requires on‑site presence for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of projects valued over $10M ideally (minimum $2M) including renovations, maintenance, and new builds.
  • Collect project specific site information to effectively organize available resources.
  • Develop strategic conceptual program consistent with proposed schedule and budget in concert with client.
  • Competitively assemble the project team by preparing and administering Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), making recommendations for award, and negotiating contracts as may be required by the client.
  • Manage the project team on behalf of the client during the design, construction, occupancy, and closeout process.
  • Provide day‑to‑day project oversight and communication with the client and project team collaboratively in concert with clients’ goals, constraints, and priorities.
  • Review the design for adherence to client’s schedule, budget, logistics and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
  • Develop, track, update, forecast, and maintain the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
  • Administer all contracts and invoices on behalf of the client.
  • Anticipate key issues for the betterment of the project and make decisions on major project events, taking into consideration the impact the final direction has on the project goals.
  • Coordinate financial close‑out efforts.
  • Develop and maintain the respect and confidence of the project team.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Understanding of and ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of preconstruction/project development process and requirements.
  • Understanding of contracts (negotiations, language, and requirements).
  • Ability to analyze and manage project budgets logically and effectively.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and scheduling software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and problem‑solving abilities.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management is preferred, Architecture would be considered.
  • Minimum of 5‑10 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Experience in cGxP and/or cGMP is required.
  • Experience as an Owner’s Representative in Project Management on biopharmaceutical/life sciences projects is an asset.
  • Experience managing capital projects previously is required.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes or process engineering is an asset.
  • Experience with scheduling software is a plus.

Pay Range
  • Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas - $91,200.00 - $132,300.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary

Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full‑time and part‑time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
