Job summary

DCI Donor Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Family Care Coordinator to work with organ donor families, hospital personnel, and physicians across Tennessee.

The role focuses on guiding families through the donation process, advocating for donation, and coordinating with clinical teams in hospital settings. The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of healthcare experience with families, plus strong communication and crisis-management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2–4 years of healthcare experience with families, counseling, bereavement, or crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of medical and legal principles of authorization and donor evaluation.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Determines family dynamics and assesses understanding to initiate donation discussion.
  • Initiates donation discussion and authorization process for donor families.
  • Responds on-site to hospital referrals within policy timelines.
  • Communicates with attending physician and healthcare team to plan donation approach.
  • Obtains authorization for donation per UAGA and verifies documentation.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff to provide donor families with timely information.
  • Provides education to hospital staff about authorization, family care, and donation process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
