Job summary

Seneca Resources seeks a Life Safety Systems Engineer (Fire Protection) to design and deliver fire protection and life safety solutions for complex facilities in Tempe, AZ. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop code-compliant systems that meet NFPA and IFC/IBC requirements.

Ideal candidates have a PE license (or eligible), 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience, and a track record in fire alarm, VESDA, CCTV, HPM, and leak detection system design for data centers or semiconductor

Qualifications

• PE license required or able to obtain licensure.
• 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 400, IFC, and IBC.
• Experience designing fire alarm, VESDA, CCTV, HPM, and leak detection systems.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Life Safety Systems Engineer (Fire Protection / LSS)

Pay Rate: Up to $75/hr (W2)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Life Safety Systems Engineer to join our team in Tempe, AZ. In this role, you will design and deliver fire protection and life safety solutions for complex facilities, including semiconductor manufacturing plants and data centers. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and local code officials to develop code-compliant fire protection systems and ensure the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarm, VESDA, gaseous suppression, smoke detection, toxic gas detection, CCTV, HPM, and leak detection systems.
• Develop code-compliant engineering solutions in accordance with NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 400, IFC, and IBC requirements.
• Prepare engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead technical discussions with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Support project execution from concept through construction.

Required Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred; ability to obtain licensure will also be considered where applicable).
• 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 400, IFC, and IBC.
• Experience designing fire alarm, VESDA, CCTV, HPM, and leak detection systems.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, project estimating, and scheduling.
• Experience leading engineering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor facilities or data centers.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Working knowledge of Revit / 3D BIM software.
