Jacobs is seeking a Life Safety Systems Engineer in Tempe, Arizona, to design innovative safety solutions for advanced facilities. You will ensure compliance with various fire and life safety codes while working in cutting-edge environments such as semiconductor manufacturing and data centers.
This role offers a hybrid working model, focusing on collaboration and professional growth. The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree in Engineering and extensive experience in safety system design.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience with Safety System Design.
- Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
- Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
- Knowledge and application of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code.
- Design experience with Fire Alarm, VESDA systems, security CCTV, HPM and Leak Detection.
Responsibilities
- Deliver code-compliant fire and life safety solutions.
- Take ownership as Engineer of Record, guiding teams.
- Interface directly with clients and local code officials.
- Use AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create 3D BIM models.
- Apply Life Safety & Fire codes to produce calculations and specifications.
