Job summary
On-Board Services is hiring a Fire Alarm / Life Safety Systems Construction Engineer to support data center projects with a strong focus on construction administration, site support, and testing witness activities.
The role involves design assistance, life safety system drawing production, and coordinating with SMEs, BIM designers, and other engineering disciplines. Remote work with 25% travel is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience with fire alarm design and life safety systems.
- Field experience with installing, inspecting, or testing fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with Notifier/Edwards/Xtralis equipment.
- Knowledge of NFPA 101, 72, 70 and related codes.
- Experience leading projects and managing resources.
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Provide construction administration support for life safety and fire alarm systems including site visits and punch walks.
- Lead designs for fire alarm, smoke control and life safety systems with BIM support.
- Develop constructible designs using 2D/3D platforms and prepare project deliverables.
- Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and code officials.
- Mentor junior staff and act as Engineer of Record where applicable.
