Job summary

Saber Healthcare Group is hiring for a Life Enrichment Director to enhance resident wellness and quality of life by planning, organizing, developing, implementing and directing the overall life enrichment program and department operations.

The role requires CTRS through NCTRC (or ADC through NCCAP or COTA with state certification), and typically two years of relevant social or recreation experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Full-time position with daytime shifts and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Must be CTRS through NCTRC or ADC through NCCAP or COTA certified by state
• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in social or recreation program in last 5 years; prefer 1 year full-time in healthcare activities director
• CTRS experience preferred; LTC experience preferred
• Must have ability to follow verbal and written directions and strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement and direct the life enrichment program and department operations
• Ensure ongoing life enrichment programs meet resident needs across spiritual, emotional, social, physical, educational, cultural and recreational well-being
• Follow health, sanitary and infection-control policies and procedures and maintain standards set by administration and Life Enrichment Policies

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job is to enhance resident wellness and quality of life through planning, organizing, developing, implementing and directing the overall life enrichment program and operation of the Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and established policies and procedures. Will ensure that an on-going life enrichment program is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, educational/intellectual, occupational, cultural, recreational, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. Performs other duties as directed by the Administrator. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Life Enrichment Policies and Procedures.

Education/Qualifications:

• Must be a certified therapeutic recreational therapist, CTRS through NCTRC; or an Activity Director Certified, ADC through NCCAP; or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA who is certified through the state in which the community is located.
• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or related field is preferred but not required.
• Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years and prefer one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting as a director.
• CTRS Experience preferred.
• LTC experience preferred.
• Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
• Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Shift & Wage:

• Full-Time Opportunity Available
• Shifts Needed: Day Shift Plus Every Other Weekend
• Wage: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
