Job summary

Ecumen Pathstone is hiring a Life Enrichment Assistant to deliver programming meeting residents' physical, social, spiritual, sensory, and psychological needs based on individual assessments. The role advocates for resident participation and choice across assisted living and memory care in the Mankato area.

The position supports residents in developing social connections, coordinating activities, and ensuring timely arrivals to events.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Leads and assists with individual and group activities, transport residents, notifies, encourages and assures resident participation in appropriate recreational activities according to their individual needs and plan of care, and documents resident participation as appropriate.
• Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop confidence to participate in individual and group activity programming.
• Ensures residents arrive at scheduled activities, outings and appointments in a timely manner. Transporting residents as needed.
• Maintains supplies in an orderly manner, notifies supervisor of supply needs in a timely manner.
• Monitors daily and monthly calendars of events, outings and other recreational opportunities for residents.
• Assists and supports all workers and positions in the building; identifies what needs to be done and assists as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Opportunity Details

Schedule:

• Part-Time
• Shifts:
  • 8:30am-12:00pm (every Monday)
  • 9:00am-3:30pm (every Thursday & Every Saturday)
• 31 hours bi-weekly
• Position works in Assisted Living & Memory Care

Pay

• The targeted pay range for this job is $17 to $20 per hour.
• Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record; for local travel
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience caring for seniors
• Activity Assistant Certified, ADC, CTRC
