Job summary

The Rescue Mission in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking Life Coach Associates to join our residential program. This full-time role focuses on direct care, advocacy, and growth in a safe, structured environment.

Starting rate is $15/hour with shift bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 403b match, PTO, holidays, EAP, life insurance, and disability coverage. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; BA preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related field experience required; driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and supports participants; provides emotional and spiritual support as needed.
• Ensures safety and adherence to house guidelines with regular walk-throughs.
• Provides leadership and guidance while reporting progress to supervisors.
• Keeps accurate records and communicates client updates to supervisors.
• Responds calmly to crisis situations and coordinates with staff and external providers.

We have two full-time Life Coach openings at our 404 E Washington location. Starting rate of $15/hour plus shift bonuses ($1/hour for 2nd shift, $2/hour for 3rd shift and $3/hour for weekends). Below are the schedules needing to be filled:

• Full-time 3rd shift, Wednesday - Sunday, 12 a.m. - 8 a.m.
• Full-time 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 4 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Position Description
The Life Coach provides direct care, advocacy, and life coaching to participants and ensures a safe, structured, and supportive environment within The Rescue Mission’s facilities. This role combines oversight of daily operations with a focus on individualized support and growth for each participant. The Life Coach should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Welcomes, orients, and supports participants staying at The Rescue Mission; offers emotional and spiritual support throughout their stay, assists participants with basic needs and administers drug and breathalyzer testing when necessary.
• Ensures safety, security, and adherence to house guidelines by conducting regular walk-throughs of the facility, supervising communal areas, and maintaining overall order and safety.
• Offers leadership and guidance to participants by modeling integrity and accountability and provides immediate feedback to supervisors concerning progress/challenges of Life House participants.
• Maintains accurate and complete records, logs, and incident reports containing pertinent information, records updated information in the electronic record and communicates relevant updates of clients to supervisors and Case Managers.
• Responds calmly and effectively to crisis situations, coordinating with staff and external service providers when needed.

Other Duties

• Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.
• Attend monthly Life House staff meetings.
• Job performance should demonstrate The Rescue Mission’s Core Values; Organizational Integrity, Organizational Unity and Organizational Effectiveness.
• Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education Training And Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1 year of experience in related field required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
