Job summary

Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) in the District of Columbia seeks an experienced Supervisory Social Worker (Licensing) to oversee a multidisciplinary team in licensing traditional foster homes and conducting comprehensive assessments.

The role requires MSW, LICSW, and DC driver’s license, with emphasis on supervision, policy guidance, data reporting, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Regular weekday schedule with security considerations.

Qualifications

• Supervise social workers and/or provide direct services to individuals and families.
• Extensive knowledge of foster home licensing regulations.
• Conduct and guide clinical assessments of prospective foster/adoptive parents.
• Prepare written home studies and recommendations for licensing.
• Oversee preservice training and staff interviews/observations.
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation of activities.
• Engage stakeholders to develop or update agency practices.
• Lead staff development and training plans.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, assign and supervise cases to ensure compliance with CFSA policies and regulations.
• Supervise staff conducting home visits and clinical assessments of foster parents.
• Guide staff in preparing home studies and licensing recommendations.
• Ensure staff maintain up-to-date case files and data reports.
• Approve or issue licenses to traditional foster homes.
• Lead meetings for case planning and resource coordination.
• Engage in professional development activities and stakeholder outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
