Job summary

Gabriel Group is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide skilled nursing care to La Hacienda patients under supervision. Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting procedures, and supporting the RN Charge Nurse in the Special Care Unit.

The ideal candidate holds an LVN license in Texas, CPR certification, and at least one year of general nursing experience; psychiatric/substance abuse nursing and CARN are desirable.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in the State of Texas.
• Must have current CPR Certification.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience; psychiatric/substance abuse nursing preferred.
• CARN Certification desirable.
• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to walk across campus multiple times during a shift.
• Must be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to La Hacienda patients under the direct supervision of the RN Charge Nurse.
• Administer medications and treatments according to policies and document in the patient’s medical record.
• Document procedures, observations, interventions, and assessments in charts under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care in the Special Care Unit under supervision of the RN Charge Nurse.
• Ensure accurate documentation of medications, treatments, and supplies in patient charts.

Description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides skilled nursing care to all La Hacienda Patients, under the direct supervision of the RN Charge Nurse. Administers medication and treatments to all patients according to policies and procedures, and documents all procedures, observations, interventions, assessments, etc. in the patient's medical record under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse. Provides direct patient care to assigned patients in the Special Care Unit, under the direct supervision of the RN. LVN's are responsible for accurate documentation of medications, treatments and supplies in patient charts.

Requirements

• Currently licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas.
• Must have current CPR Certification. (Will provide CPR Certification Class, if needed)
• Minimum of one year experience in general nursing and/or one year experience in psychiatric/substance abuse nursing preferred.
• CARN Certification is desirable.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to walk across campus multiple times during a shift as required.
