Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Plano, TX invites applications for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Family Care 18135. This full-time role offers hands-on patient care in a fast-paced clinic with opportunities for growth and a supportive team.

You will perform nursing tasks including vital signs, injections, wound care, documentation, and patient education while following care standards and regulations. LVN license and ACLS or BCLS certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Accredited practical nursing program is required.
  • One year of experience preferred; clinic/primary care office experience highly preferred.
  • ACLS or BCLS certification required alongside LVN license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic nursing care for patients by following established standards and procedures.
  • Collect patient data such as vital signs and observable responses to stimuli and report findings.
  • Prepare and administer injections, perform routine tests and wound care.
  • Prepare patient records using established medical forms and electronic systems.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient progress and response.
  • Participate in implementing and evaluating patient care per guidelines and laws.
  • Monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
  • Convey information to patients and families about health status and management.
  • Collaborate in teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.

Here's What You Need
Education
  • Accredited school of practical nursing program (Required)
Experience
  • One year of experience (Preferred)
  • Clinic/Physician "Primary Care" Office experience (Highly Preferred)
  • Understanding of Quality Measure Management process preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse (Required) And
  • ACL K - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) Or
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
What You Will Do
  • Perform basic nursing care for patients by following established standards and procedures. May perform specific nursing care as it relates to specialty of the practice.
  • Collect patient data such as vital signs, note how the patient looks and acts or responds to stimuli and report this information accordingly.
  • Prepare and administer injections, perform routine tests, treat wounds and change bandages.
  • Prepare patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
  • Administer certain prescribed medications and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
  • Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
  • Convey information to patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Participate in teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes
