First Physicians in Odessa, TX, seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join a fast-paced walk-in clinic. You will prepare patients, assist providers, administer medications and injections, and manage IVs in a dynamic daily flow.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Active, unrestricted Texas LVN license.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification.
• Strong clinical skills, including injections and vital signs.

• Organized and able to keep up with a busy clinic.

Mansioni

• Room patients; take vital signs and medical history.
• Document visits accurately in Athena.
• Give medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered.
• Start peripheral IVs and IV fluids as ordered.
• Perform point-of-care tests (glucose, UA, strep, flu, COVID).
• Draw blood and collect lab specimens.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Assist with DOT physicals and workers’ comp visits; drug screens.
• Return patient calls as directed; assist with referrals.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; follow HIPAA guidelines.

About the role

The LVN provides hands-on patient care alongside our physicians and providers. In a busy walk-in setting, you’ll prepare patients for their visits, assist providers, give medications, injections, and IVs, and help every patient leave feeling informed and cared for.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take vital signs, height, weight, and medical history
• Document visits accurately in Athena
• Give medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered by the provider
• Start peripheral IVs and give IV fluids and medications as ordered by the provider
• Perform point-of-care tests such as glucose, urinalysis, strep, flu, and COVID
• Draw blood and collect lab specimens
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes
• Help with DOT physicals and workers’ compensation visits, including drug screens and required paperwork
• Return patient calls as directed by providersHelp with prior authorizations and referrals as needed
• Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain medical supplies
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
• Active, unrestricted Texas LVN license
