Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice to meet patient needs per standards and physician orders.
• Demonstrates knowledge and use of Infection Control Manual and participates in Quality Improvement.
• Utilizes Life Manual to identify, place, and monitor patients in programs.
• Notifies departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge).
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications timely and per facility policy.
• Administers treatments timely and per facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders when allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.
