Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed LVN in California (RN/CN A not applicable).
• One-year nursing management experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in long-term care settings is essential.
• Proficiency with Point Click Care charting is required or highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice per standards and physician orders.
• Implements and participates in Quality Improvement activities.
• Identifies and monitors patients in appropriate programs using Life/Quality manuals.
• Notifies departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, admits, discharges).
• Educates patients and families about care plans and procedures.
• Administers medications timely according to facility policy.
• Administers treatments in a timely manner per policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders as allowed by law.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Job description

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in state of California
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred, not required.
