Job summary

The VA seeks an LPN/LVN to provide diverse nursing care under RN/MD supervision in a VA facility. This position requires active licensure as a Graduate LPN/LVN and full, current licensure in the United States.

Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) with program details determined by the VA Education Loan Repayment Services. Applicants may be tentatively selected while meeting requirements per VA policy.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required; non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
• Education: graduate from an approved practical or vocational nursing program; NLNAC accreditation preferred.
• Licensure: active, full, current LPN/LVN licensure in the United States or DC.
• English language proficiency required for direct patient care positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of practical nursing care to patients under RN/MD supervision.
• Orient/train less experienced LPNs/LVNs and Nursing Assistants.
• Educate patients and families regarding diseases, medications, and treatments.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications as permitted by local policy.
