Job summary

Powell Animal Hospital, part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Powell, Tennessee. The role involves hands-on care, assisting veterinarians, and performing dental and radiographic procedures to support outpatient and inpatient services.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical experience
• Current Licensure required
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, intubation, radiographs, dental cleaning and lab work

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and educate clients
• Assist with hospitalized patient care, including monitoring and comfort measures
• Perform venipuncture and collect samples (blood, urine, fecal)
• Perform intubation and IV catheter placement
• Run in-house lab testing and prepare samples for reference labs
• Take and assist with diagnostic radiographs and dental radiographs
• Assist in surgical prep, sterile setup, and patient recovery
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
• Monitor anesthesia and patient safety
• Communicate treatment plans, estimates, and next steps to clients
• Maintain cleanliness and restocking of treatment areas
