Job summary

Texoma Veterinary Hospital in Sherman, TX is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab testing, patient nursing and client education in a busy practice.

Licensed Technicians receive a $3,800 sign-on bonus, paid in three increments; benefits include paid time off, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with matching, licensing reimbursement and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a licensed veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads.
• Follows OSHA PPE safety practices and basic math for dosages.
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety and client education.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine, surgery and procedures as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs and weights during outpatient exams; educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Collect samples, conduct in-hospital lab tests, and prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines and treatments as directed.
• Maintain clean exam rooms, labs and restock supplies; support team.
• Communicate with veterinarians, clients and team to ensure quality care.
• Other duties as assigned.
