Veterinary United in New Baltimore seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant to provide essential medical support across the hospital. You’ll deliver patient care, educate clients, and mentor team members while collaborating with veterinarians and leadership.

The role requires proficiency in surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, radiology, labs, and a passion for animal care. A strong team ethic and physical stamina are valued in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Are you a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician or Senior Level Veterinary Assistant looking for a workplace that values your passion and expertise?

Position Summary:

The Licensed Veterinary Technician/SR Veterinary Assistant is the Veterinarians primary medical support to provide excellent patient care, exceptional client education and support in all areas of the hospital. They should have a deep knowledge of common medical conditions and commonly used medications. Be proficient in all areas of veterinary medicine to include but not limited to; patient care, surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, radiology, laboratory skills, client communication and education. Will have an integral role in communication and mentoring of veterinary assistants and veterinary support team in order to consistently maintain high standards of patient care and client needs among all levels within the hospital.

• Familiar with or open to learn animal behavior and assessing animal body language
• Can stay calm and efficient in a medical crisis
• Exhibit patience and respect to animals always
• Has physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk dogs up to 120 lbs. and can stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Experience with x-rays, blood draws, labs, vaccines, medications, surgery preps and/or assisting.
