Job summary

LifeLine Animal Project in Chamblee, GA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our Shelter Medicine team. This full-time role supports surgical prep, patient care, and client education.

You will assist veterinarians, handle sample collection, maintain accurate records in PetPoint, and help train veterinary assistants while upholding our lifesaving mission. The successful candidate must meet AVMA-accredited training standards and be able to lift 50 lbs, work weekends, and pass

• Proficient in animal restraint.

• Able to work under stressful conditions.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift 50 lbs.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and pets; gather medical history prior to examination/treatment.
• Assist veterinarians with diagnostic exams and procedures.
• Collect blood, urine, and stool samples as needed.
• Administer vaccinations and medications under veterinary supervision.
• Feed clinic patients and maintain clean kennels and cages.
• Complete data entry of medical information and notes in PetPoint.
• Examine and prepare animals for surgery; prep space for recovery.
• Prepare samples for outside lab analysis; read fecal tests.
• Perform euthanasias when necessary.
• Maintain sterile instruments and surgical packs.
