Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team at the Rarebreed clinic. You’ll work with specialists and utilize state-of-the-art facilities to deliver high-quality care to our patients and support their families.

We offer a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for licensed candidates, with $28-32/hr pay depending on experience. Join a collaborative team dedicated to advancing oncology care for pets.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Current Maine Veterinary Technician License or the ability to obtain one.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy experience.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care during chemotherapy, radiology, office visits and diagnostics.
• Monitor patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments, verify medication doses, place and maintain catheters, and record treatments.
• Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures, including injections, oral medications, blood draws, basic pharmacology and bandaging.
• Provide comfort and support to patients and communicate with their families about medical and financial status.
• Support the hospital team to deliver exceptional care for pets and their owners.
