Job summary

Willowood Acres Veterinary Clinic, a two-doctor small animal practice near New Boston, Michigan, is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to deliver hands-on nursing care and client education. You will perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, radiographs, in-house lab work, and support surgical and dental procedures while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Active LVT credential required.
• Experience as an LVT in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Competency in surgical nursing: IV catheter placement, anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery.
• Radiography, phlebotomy, sample collection, and in-house lab work.
• Strong pharmacology knowledge and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake to discharge.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
• Obtain radiographs and maintain imaging standards; run in-house labs.
• Support surgical and dental procedures: prep, anesthesia, monitoring, recovery, instrument care.
• Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence.

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Schedule: 4 days per week with occasional weekend kennel shift coverage. No Holidays

Special Requirements: Active LVT credential required

What Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians Do

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to small animal patients from intake through discharge
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
• Obtain high-quality radiographs and maintain imaging standards
• Run in-house lab work, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, and cytology
• Support surgical and dental procedures, including patient prep, anesthesia induction and monitoring, recovery, and instrument care
• Administer medications safely and accurately
• Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
• Share your knowledge, skills, and experience with teammates (Spidey powers optional)

What You’ll Bring

• An active Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential (required)
• Experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, with confidence in patient handling and technical skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Competency in surgical nursing, including IV catheter placement and anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Diagnostic skills in radiographs, phlebotomy, sample collection, and in-house lab work
• A strong understanding of pharmacology and medication administration
• Clear, compassionate communication with clients and team members
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
