Job summary

Riverwalk Animal Hospital in Ridgeland, SC is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our surgical team. You will own anesthetic monitoring and assist in soft tissue surgery and dentistry in a warm, low-drama environment.

We run a Monday–Thursday schedule with no weekends or on-call, and offer a full benefits package including health, life and disability insurance, CE allowance, 401k, and paid time off. A SC license and 3+ years as an LVT are required.

Job description

Are you a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician who wants to stay in the surgery suite — in a practice that actually feels like a great place to work? Riverwalk Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our surgical team in Ridgeland, SC.

We run daily dentals and soft tissue surgery Monday through Thursday. No weekends. No on-call. Just meaningful work in a warm, collaborative environment where your skills will be fully utilized from day one.

This role is ideal for a technician who is confident in the surgery suite, takes ownership of anesthetic monitoring, and is ready to be a critical member of a dedicated surgical team. Surgeries run Monday through Thursday — no Fridays, no weekends.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

  • Coordinating with the doctor on the daily flow for surgical and dental procedures
  • Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
  • Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
  • Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
  • Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion

Responsibilities include:

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour, for each hour worked
  • Schedule: This is a flexible position open to someone full-time or part-time position, with a full time typically offering a 4 x 10 schedule, Monday–Friday. No weekends and no on-call requirements.

Full-time Benefits Package*:

  • Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of SC
  • CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standingLicensed Veterinary Technician in the state of SC **

    • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
