Great Lakes Hospital for Animals in Belmont, Michigan, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our collaborative veterinary team. Qualifications

  • Hold a current veterinary technician license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care for hospitalized and outpatient patients.
  • Assist with surgery, anesthesia, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Lead technician appointments.
  • Perform laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures.
  • Support treatment plans and patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Educate clients about medications, treatments, preventive care, and at-home nursing.
  • Serve as a phone nurse, helping clients navigate questions and determine next steps for their pets.
  • Assist veterinarians with procedures and patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support efficient hospital flow.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, assistants, CSRs, and fellow technicians.
  • Advocate for patients and ensure a safe, compassionate experience for pets and families.

Great Lakes Hospital for Animals is growing, and we are excited to expand our footprint in the community. We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician who is skilled, compassionate, dependable, and ready to be an active part of a collaborative veterinary team.

Our LVTs are trusted members of the medical team and have the opportunity to fully use the skills they worked hard to develop. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys patient care, client education, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference every day.

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

What You’ll Do

Schedule

Great Lakes Hospital for Animals is open Monday through Saturday.

Full-time team members typically enjoy a four-day work week. Schedules may include a combination of daytime and evening shifts, with Saturdays typically scheduled only once every 3–4 weeks.

Hospital hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM

Both full-time and part-time schedules will be considered.
