BluePearl Pet Hospital in Reno, NV is seeking a knowledgeable Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their Internal Medicine department. You will liaise between internists and clients, manage patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates, while assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures and radiology.

Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed veterinary technician in NV.
• Experience with anesthesia management and phlebotomy is required.
• Experience with ultrasound procedures or radiology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor anesthesia, induce and recover as needed.
• Assist with ultrasound, endoscopic procedures and radiology procedures.
• Discharge IM patients with client education and care instructions.
• Handle client communications by phone, email, and in person.
• Perform lab testing and obtain samples as requested by doctors.
• Other duties as assigned.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department in Reno, NV!

Pay: $23 - $40 / hour

Pay is dependent on experience and leveling through the Kahuna leveling system.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
