Job summary

Emergency Animal Hospital of Collin County (EAHCC) in Plano, TX is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician for Overnight ER. The role offers $26-$30/hr with a $2500 sign-on bonus and an additional $4/hr overnight differential. Three 12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, full-time.

You will provide expert nursing care for critically ill patients, assist with anesthesia and emergency procedures, and collaborate with veterinarians to deliver high-quality care 24/7.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred
• Two years veterinary experience encouraged
• Emergency or specialty experience preferred
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medications, and monitoring
• Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, and fluid therapy
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Fluent English required; multilinguals encouraged

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and critical care patients throughout hospitalization and recovery.
• Triage emergency patients and assist with urgent medical assessments and treatments.
• Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, administer medications, and manage IV fluids.
• Assist with emergency diagnostics, supportive therapies, and advanced patient care procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency and surgical procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, airway management, oxygen therapy, and other emergency nursing procedures.
• Process laboratory samples, perform diagnostic testing, and document patient information.
• Monitor patient status, report changes, and communicate with the medical team.
• Provide client education and discharge instructions with compassionate communication.
• Maintain clean, organized, and stocked treatment and emergency areas

Job Description:

The Overnight ER Licensed Veterinary Technician provides exceptional nursing care and technical support for critically ill and injured patients in a fast-paced emergency setting. This role works closely with veterinarians to perform advanced diagnostic, treatment, anesthesia, and monitoring procedures while ensuring compassionate patient care and excellent client communication.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred
• Experienced Veterinary Technicians with a minimum of two years of veterinary experience are encouraged to apply.
• Emergency or specialty veterinary experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
• Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, and fluid therapy.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
