Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician for Emergency / ICU to join a 24/7 hospital that offers world‑class medicine and a collaborative, supportive team.

You will assist veterinarians, monitor patients, perform diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, radiographs, and client communication while providing nursing care and growth opportunities through continuing education and career development.

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician with ER experience or 2+ years in general practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform essential duties of a Veterinary Technician.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity.
  • Support veterinarians, often assisting more than one on shift.
  • Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to patients.
  • Perform anesthetic monitoring and radiographs with safety protocols.
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing.
  • Conduct laboratory procedures including blood typing and cross matching.
  • Maintain equipment and clean, safe work areas.
  • Provide professional client communication.
  • Meet performance and attendance expectations.
  • Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times.

About the job

The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care hospital of Las Vegas as well as assist the veterinarian with all duties.

How you'll make a difference
  • Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
  • Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
  • Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
  • Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
  • Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
  • Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
  • Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
  • Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintains client and patient confidentiality
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
  • Meet or exceed VECC expectations for attendance and punctuality
  • Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism

  • Experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience,

Schedule
  • Main Hospital
    • Thursday through Saturday, 7:00am - 7:30pm
    • Wednesday through Friday, 7:00am - 7:30pm
  • North Hospital (Set to open later this year. Anyone hired now will work at VE+CC until that time.)
    • Thursday at our main hospital, Saturday & Sunday at North, both schedules 9:00pm - 7:30am
    • Friday though Sunday, 10:00pm - 8:00am
    • Friday through Sunday at our North location, Mondays at our Main location, 4:00p - 2:00am for both schedules
  • Base pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
  • Swing shift differential: +$2.00/hour
  • Overnight differential: +$4.00/hour
