Job summary

Lakeside Animal Hospital in Hermitage, TN is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for a full-time role. The candidate should hold a Tennessee veterinary technician license or be eligible for licensure, with strong technical nursing skills and a passion for client education.

The LVT will support a wide range of duties across the hospital, including restraints, venipuncture, lab work, digital radiography, anesthesia, and dental and surgical support, while contributing to a positive

Qualifications

• Hold a current Tennessee veterinary technician license or be eligible for Tennessee licensure.
• Solid foundation of veterinary technical and nursing skills.
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats of varying temperaments and medical needs.
• Experience with exotic or pocket pet medicine is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication with clients and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Restrain patients and provide safe, compassionate handling.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Utilize digital radiography.
• Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Support surgical and dental procedures.
• Take dental radiographs and provide prophylactic dental care.
• Prepare and administer medications.
• Assist Pharmacy and prescription processes.
• Deliver nursing care and treatments to patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client communications.
• Educate clients and support preventive care recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area.
