Job summary

Dakota Veterinary Center in White Plains, NY is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to support our busy small-animal hospital. The ideal candidate loves teamwork and mentoring, with a passion for high-quality patient care and client service.

You will work with a skilled team providing compassionate care, assist with exams, surgeries, anesthesia monitoring, and patient records. The schedule includes a 4-day week with occasional half-day Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with NY license.
• Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Proficiency in compassionately handling and restraining animals, including stressed or fearful patients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians and staff to ensure seamless patient care and client service.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries, preparing equipment and supplies.
• Administer medications, vaccines, labs and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures.
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients including wound care and IV therapy.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans.
