Job summary

Peninsula Animal Referral Center in Yorktown, VA, seeks a compassionate, team-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technician for full-time work in our emergency department. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience, strong communication skills, and a positive, energetic attitude to support patients and clients.

Duties include lab testing, assisting in surgery, patient monitoring, administering and logging controlled drugs, and providing emergency triage and client education.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–3 years’ experience in veterinary care.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with current credentials.
• Experience in emergency veterinary settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory tests for emergency cases.
• Assist veterinarian in surgery and monitoring patients.
• Monitor and care for patients; log controlled drugs.
• Provide emergency triage and client education.
• Communicate with clients; contribute to staff training.
• Assist with euthanasia under supervision.

Full Time Licensed Veterinary Technicians Wanted

The Peninsula Animal Referral Center is seeking a compassionate, team-oriented, experienced, positive full-time Licensed Veterinary Technicians for our emergency department.

Applicants must have strong communication skills, an energetic attitude, empathy, and enthusiasm for helping clients and patient alike. Must have 1-3 years’ experience.

LVTs earn $25-$30/hr depending on experience.

Our LVTs will be responsible for a variety of duties include but not limited to:

• execute laboratory tests
• assist veterinarian in surgery
• patient monitoring and care
• administering and logging controlled drugs
• emergency triage
• client communication and education
• supervised euthanasia
• staff training

Our 12,000 sq ft emergency & referral center is located between historic Williamsburg and the Virginia Beach/Norfolk metropolitan area. Amenities of this state-of-the-art facility include extensive monitoring and diagnostic equipment, and digital radiography. The recently remodeled emergency practice is in a separate area of the referral center and has enjoyed strong support from area practices for over 50 years. Specialty practice includes a Dermatologist, Ophthalmologist, and Surgeon.
