Licensed Veterinary Technician (Full-Time)

Animal Medical Center is a fast‑paced, AAHA‑accredited, 4‑doctor practice offering general and urgent care services. We look for a Licensed Veterinary Technician who shares our passion for animal care.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be an essential member of our medical team, working on a variety of cases—from preventive care to urgent situations. Your technical skills, compassion, and adaptability will have a real impact each day.

Perform patient care tasks in general practice and urgent care settings.
Support anesthesia, surgery, and emergency procedures.
Provide critical care, triage, stabilization, and patient monitoring.
Communicate clearly with pet owners about treatment and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate records and facilitate smooth workflow.

Schedule

4‑day work week
Rotating Saturdays
Closing shifts until 8:00 PM
Typical shifts: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM with one Saturday a month

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Minimum 1 year of experience
Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia

Preferred Skills:

Experience in urgent care or ER settings
Proficiency in anesthesia and surgical support
Strong team player with collaborative spirit
Ability to perform under pressure in fast‑paced environment

What You'll Bring to the Team

Calm, efficient, decisive approach during medical emergencies
Graduate of an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technician program with a current state license
Proficiency in a range of technical skills, especially emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing
Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and working effectively in fast‑paced environment
Strong communication skills and passion for collaboration under pressure
Preferred: one year of experience in a veterinary setting; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus
