Job description

Position Overview

PetVet Care Centers’ Madison Park Veterinary Hospital seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide quality veterinary care, exceptional client service, and support hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, collecting samples, performing laboratory tests, and using diagnostic imaging.
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications and vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
  • Support exam and operative procedures by assembling supplies and instruments, restraining patients, and assisting as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and specialized equipment usage for patient care.
  • Obtain and verify medications and maintain patient nutrition and hygiene.
  • Administer medications, including controlled drugs, and maintain proper documentation, logging, and security.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment through sterilization, sanitization, and compliance with legal regulations.
  • Document patient medical records accurately and update the database timely.
  • Communicate with pet owners about patient status as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage inventory, place orders for supplies, and verify receipts.
  • Participate in educational opportunities and read professional journals to update job knowledge.
  • Release pets to owners as directed, ensuring each animal is clean and groomed before release.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or practice.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) as required by state.
  • May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

Pay Range: $27,000 – $30,000 USD
