Job summary

Urgent Pet Care in Omaha, NE is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced urgent care team. You will work with veterinarians and a supportive staff to manage emergencies, perform lab work, imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.

This role offers a starting pay of $28 per hour, with opportunities for raises based on experience and performance, plus comprehensive benefits and professional growth support.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work at least one weekend and one overnight shift per week.

Urgent Pet Care is an AAHA-accredited, fast-growing urgent care practice with two locations in the Omaha/Papillion area. We’re dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care during those critical moments when pets need immediate medical attention.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• A LicensedVeterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
• At least one weekend and one overnight shift per week is required for this position.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

Additional Information

Pay Range:$28/hr+ starting wage for new grads, increase and negotiation available depending on level of experience. Shift differential available.
