Job summary

Mauer Animal Clinic in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (Full-time, LVT) to join our compassionate team. You will assist veterinarians, perform blood draws, radiology, dentistry, and anesthesia, while delivering excellent client communication and patient care.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of clinical veterinary technician experience.
• CVT/RVT/LVT preferred or eligible to obtain licensure.
• Strong animal handling and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in blood draws, IV catheters, dentistry, radiology.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgeries.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer meds and vaccines.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care in a clean, organized environment.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia and assist with radiographs.

Our ideal candidate will have open availability, excellent time management skills as well as being able to work in a team. Duties will include assisting in rooms with doctors, drawing blood and running labs, filling meds and administering medications, feeding/watering/cleaning patients., etc

Requirements

• 1-3 + years of prior Clinical Veterinary Technician experience
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with pets and their owners
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Skills with: Blood draws, Placing IV catheters, Digital radiology including positioning, Dentistry, Anesthesia & Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; and Sedivue are preferred!

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
• Place IV catheter
• Knowledge of anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry
• Communication with team and DVMS
• Proper handling

• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
• Radiographs
• Collect lab samples and run in-house tests
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed
• Occasionally assist in exam rooms with DVM
• Monitor hospitalized patients
