Animal Wellness Center in Crozet, VA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our compassionate, collaborative team. We provide integrative medicine alongside traditional veterinary care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotics.

As an LVT, you will assist veterinarians, perform venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, radiology and lab work, educate clients, maintain records, and support a supportive team with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or eligibility required.
• Experience in veterinary settings preferred.
• Excellent communication and client education skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and laboratory procedures
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Educate clients on medications, preventive care, and discharge instructions
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas, exams rooms, and patient wards

Here is What Your day May Consist of:

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you'll play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting our veterinarians, clients, and fellow team members.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and other technical nursing skills within your credentialed scope of practice
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and exotic pets (experience with exotics is a plus)
• Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate medical records
• Educate clients on medications, preventive care, prescription diets, wellness plans, and discharge instructions
• Reinforce veterinarian recommendations and promote exceptional client communication
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked treatment area, pharmacy, exam rooms, and patient wards
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment
• Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide outstanding patient care
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the hospital and patient care
