Qualifications

  • 4+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Montana
  • Proficiency in anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery; surgical support; dental prophylaxis and radiography; venipuncture and IV catheter placement; radiology safety; medication calculations; laboratory testing; medical records documentation; client education and communication; exotics handling is preferred but not required

  • Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography

Job description

All West Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experiencedLicensedVeterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who is passionate about surgery and enjoys being actively involved in both surgical and general practice care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing hands-on surgical support, exam room responsibilities, patient care, and meaningful client communication. You’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on with a diverse range of patients, including dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and other exotic species, while helping educate and guide clients throughout their pet’s care.

Your expertise will help elevate the quality of medicine, enhance the client experience, and provide exceptional patient care across a wide variety of species.

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $23 - $26 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time or part-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday. No weekends, nights, or holidays!

Full-time Benefits Package*:

  • Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Montana
  • CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 4+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Montana **
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
    • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
    • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
    • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
    • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
    • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
    • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
    • Accurate medical record documentation
    • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
    • Client education and communication
    • Experience with handling exotics is preferred, but not required
  • **Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
