Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education seeks an Instructor to provide licensed trades instruction within a correctional environment at the Skills Center. You will focus on tracking training hours toward journeyman exam completion, delivering competency-based blended instruction, and integrating academics, life and employability skills.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, five years in a licensed trade, and a professional credential (HVAC or Electrical).

Qualifications

• Licensure or certification in a licensed trade (HVAC or Electrical) required.
• Experience in an instructional setting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality career and technology instruction in accordance with effective teaching criteria.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable accreditation standards.
• Develop and implement logs, inventories and safety procedures.
• Place students in training-related programs or other high-wage employment opportunities.
• Maintain and submit required program data and reports in a timely manner.
