Job summary

Qualifications

• Individual income tax preparation for 1040s and schedules.
• Small business and self-employed tax preparation.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax codes and regulations.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software (Intuit/TurboTax, Lacerte).
• Tax research using IRS publications and authoritative sources.
• Data entry accuracy and electronic filing processes.
• Client interviewing and needs assessment.
• Documentation and record-keeping in secure systems.
• Basic advisory skills in tax planning and deductions.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person tax preparation and filing services for individuals and small businesses using Intuit tools.
• Review financial documents, identify deductions and credits, and ensure compliance with current tax laws.
• Advise clients on tax strategies, planning opportunities, and potential impacts of life events.
• Verify accuracy of returns, resolve discrepancies, and respond to basic IRS or state tax notices.
• Maintain detailed, secure client records in Intuit systems while protecting sensitive data.
• Collaborate with in-store and remote Intuit teams to improve client experiences and share best practices.
• Educate clients on Intuit products such as TurboTax and related services.
• Stay current on federal and state tax regulations through ongoing training and certification renewals.
